Why everyone keeps coming back.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Crawfordsville, IN is a comforting destination where traditional American and Southern flavors come to life in a warm, family-friendly setting. Known for its hearty breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings, this beloved restaurant invites you to savor home-style cooking that truly feels like a cozy meal at Grandma’s kitchen.

The menu at Cracker Barrel balances classic Southern dishes with updated favorites, creating a rich tapestry of flavors that appeal to every appetite. New for summer, the Onion Petals—their take on crispy sweet Southern onions lightly battered and fried to golden perfection—are dusted with garlic salt and paired with the signature Country Comeback dipping sauce, delivering a crunchy, savory start to any meal. For heartier palates, the Campfire Chicken is a standout: a slow-cooked, marinated half-chicken infused with campfire seasoning, served alongside sweet corn on the cob, red skin potatoes, carrots, and grape tomatoes all enveloped in a buttery broth that locks in rich, smoky flavors and tenderness that melts in your mouth.

If you're craving lighter fare, the Homestyle Grilled Chicken Salad blends smoky Southern grilled chicken breast with fresh greens, boiled egg, cucumbers, and Colby cheese, offering a refreshing yet satisfying option. Comfort seekers will adore the Chicken & Dumplin Soup—the evocative bowl of shredded chicken with moist dumplings, celery, carrots, and onions in a savory broth that evokes memories of slow-cooked family meals. Their Barrel Bacon Cheeseburger packs a punch with a grilled-to-order patty, crispy bacon, and Colby cheese, a classic indulgence for burger lovers.

The dining atmosphere at Cracker Barrel is unmistakably welcoming and cozy, enhanced by attentive and friendly service that recent guests consistently praise. From Stevie Mulia’s delight in the tender country fried chicken and flavorful fish fry to John McGinley’s appreciation for a meal that “tastes like home cooked,” this restaurant thrives on delivering authenticity and a sense of belonging. Even when minor hiccups occur—like Caty Vega’s slightly overcooked steak—the good-natured service and overall quality shine through, making every visit worthwhile.

Adding to its charm is the unique country store attached to the dining area, packed with a thoughtfully curated collection of gifts and nostalgic treasures. As Ashley Bice notes, this store offers a treasure trove of unique and delightful items perfect for gifts—or a special treat for yourself—which adds an extra layer of enjoyment beyond the meal.

Whether you're stopping by for a satisfying breakfast, a comforting lunch, or a relaxed dinner, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store promises a genuine Southern hospitality experience paired with food that warms both heart and palate. Paired with their recently introduced selection of beer, your Southern country feast is only made better.

For anyone seeking traditional American cuisine with a Southern twist in a space that feels like a home away from home, Cracker Barrel in Crawfordsville stands out as a must-visit destination.

Delicious food, good service, and atmosphere. We ordered the country-fried chicken and the fish fry. The chicken was so tender and tasty, as was the fish fry. We will be back for more!

Kyleigh was our server and was super sweet! A little shy but also easy to talk to. Excellent service and accommodating. It seems the cooks couldn’t keep up with the servers demands as my steak was very dry and overcooked but i enjoyed it nonetheless. :>

You can't go wrong with Cracker Barrel. Consistently good service and food. Bonus that their restaurants have a shop with lots of unique and awesome things for gifts (or yourself). Bonus that they now serve beer.

Everything about our experience was good except we weren't fond of the deep fried turkey. We got that because the traditional turkey meal couldn't be changed and we wanted mashed potatoes not the mashed sweet potatoes. We heard that we couldn't change that part of the holiday meal. Otherwise, our experience was good. Our waiter, Kristopher was fantastic. Still, we're likely to dine somewhere else next Thanksgiving.

Our rood was good, typically Cracker Barrell style. The Mashed Potatoes have changed since our last visit 1 year ago, and the Hashbrown Cassorole was dry and crispy. The Meatloaf, Pot Roast and Dumplings were amazing. Probably the best Dumplings I have had in a long time. Gotta love Cracker Barrell for consistency good homestyle country cooking!!!
